Background[]
Faen is a peak mid sized Plane, it belongs to a pantheon of elven ,human and oceanic gods that splintered off from the God World. The three Pantheons occupy the two largest continents and the sea respectively.
The Human Gods on the Faen Continent are the weakest of the three, then the Elven Gods on the Garan Continent and the strongest are the Oceanic Gods and their Oceanic Empire located under the sea.
1000 years before the start of Age of Adepts, the Pale Witches of the Northern Witches discovered Faen and invaded it with the help of two Great Adepts, they invaded Garan first and a bloody war broke out. The results were horrifying for both sides, The elven pantheon lost five deities of the Second and Third Grade and their chief god, Saoirse was forced to go into a deep sleep due to injuries. The Pale Witches lost a Great Adept in the fight and their remaining Great Adept was severely wounded, but was able to stave off the elven pantheon.
The Elven Empire on Garan suffered immense casualties during the first invasion, it lost entire cities and countless soldiers to the invading adepts, but was victorious over the Pale Witches. The Pale witches lost adepts in the double digits and were drivien out of the Garan Continent to Shadow Island. They established a magic tower on Shadow Island under the protection of their remaining Great Adept. Shadow Island would plague the Faen Plane for centuries and would engrave itself as the stuff of nightmares on the inhabitants of Faen.
The Elven Empire has suffered catastrophic damage and nearly half of the Garan Garan was burned down after Greem came back to take revenge for Alice.

- Although the Human Gods on Faen are the weakest they are arrogant enough to call their continent the "Faen Continent".
- The adepts do not count cannon fodder among their casualties, but during the first invasion the loss of cannon fodder was surely as immense as the elven casualties.
- The elves have a collection of magic books that were looted from dead Pale Witches.
- The Faen locals call the concurrent raids by the Northern witches every 10 years as the "Witch Calamity".
- Most inhabitants of Faen are unaware that they are only facing a small part of the Northern Witches.
- knowledge that come from the witches is forbidden.
- All major underground organizations are indirectly connected to Shadow Island. Everyone who can be considered a heretic that uses black magic wants to establish connections to Shadow Island.
